Stick to the schedule you planned. Sometimes you have to say ‘no’ to a client or your boss because you have other responsibilities. I understand it is difficult to say ‘no.’ If you are too agreeable, you will end up burning yourself out. I know because I’ve done it.
You have to make yourself stop working. Otherwise, you will get obsessed with work. When you get preoccupied with work, your personal life will suffer. Responsibilities in your personal life will go undone. You will get frustrated because you are not balancing your life.
Create procedures for doing specific actions. If you have guidelines for completing tasks, you can replicate them. You want to establish systems because you want to find the most productive way to accomplish a task. Having a plan will allow you to repeat your work duties in different environments.
During work hours, avoid tasks that don’t have anything to do with your work. These will often be distractions. I know I’ve been there. Avoid chores such as laundry. If you start washing clothes while working, you may end up doing laundry instead of working. It also causes you to task switch. Task switching hinders your productivity.
Don’t engage in work tasks during your downtime. It will help if you separate your work and personal life when working from home. It’s hard to do while working from home, but it is even more crucial than ever. Once you start intermingling the two, you will become less productive. You will endure stress because you’re not taking personal time.

If I used a notebook for work and used the same one for a personal task, I might lose it. If I had a separate notebook in my workspace and used it only for work, I would be less likely to lose it. I will always have a pen when I need it. You need to know where everything is in your workspace, especially the things you need to succeed.
Do not let other people use your work supplies. Store them where they are not available for others to use. Establish boundaries when it comes to your workspace. It would help if you shared your personal office supplies with others or buy them supplies.
Keep your workspace tidy. I understand maintaining a clean workspace might be difficult because of a lack of space. We might even mix our personal and work supplies, cluttering our workspaces. We should have clean and organized workspaces.
We want to keep our tools nearby. You don’t want your pens in or paper stored across the room or in a different room. It is counterproductive to get up every time we need our supplies. Our most essential tools should be an arm’s length away. That way, we can reach for what we need instead of walking to it.
It might be challenging to keep all your supplies in a small workspace, but it’s not impossible. Try keeping a small bag or storage container next to your workspace and pack it with necessary office supplies. Consider purchasing a small portable printer. You have everything you need close. You will no longer have to go into another room for supplies. You will minimize the number of trips it takes to get supplies.
It is crucial to keep the things in your workspace well-maintained. Get rid of the junk. Throw away anything broken and give away anything you no longer need. Over time, we tend to accumulate office supplies we should toss out. We want to keep everything in pristine condition and functioning.
Our computers are a prominent part of our workspaces. On our computers, we should run virus scans and delete files we don’t need. We should archive old files on a portable hard drive or a USB drive. Making sure our computers are up-to-date is another primary task. If we use our mobile phones for work, we need to maintain those too.
Make sure your workspace is comfortable. Working in an uncomfortable position will cause you to focus on your discomfort. It will also negatively affect your health. You should be able to reach and stretch without feeling cramped or bumping into objects. Your workspace should allow you to keep proper posture. A different site includes moving to another space in the house or a new office. We don’t want a situation where we have to pack up boxes of stuff. That way, you can pick up and move somewhere else quickly.
Manage the distractions that you have in your workspace. We don’t want our cell phones constantly ringing. We also don’t want household objects, such as the TV, making noise. We don’t want our family, friends, or neighbors interrupting us. It is imperative to prevent as many interruptions as possible. Additionally, it is essential to create a distraction-free zone.
Use technology to manage distractions. For example, if you know a package is in transit, you can track its delivery time with an app. Another solution would be to have the parcel delivered to a dropbox location. You can pick it up after your work shift.
Use your unscheduled or canceled times to clean and tidy your workspace. It is vital to maintain focus on your work. Cleaning or tidying during your downtime time is appropriate. Wipe down your computer and organize your notebooks and files. You can also use this time to sort emails or documents saved on your computer.

After you follow your day, determine what changes you want to make.
You want to track one aspect of your productivity at a time. You don’t want to follow several habits at once. If you track more than one routine, it becomes harder to measure results. It is hard to keep track of several changes at once. You should stick with one way of doing something, tweak it, track it, and review the results. Determine how the modifications affected your other routines. You also want to verify if the changes made you more productive.
